Thousands to be told they are at risk of having contracted hepatitis C from NHS worker

More than 8,000 patients across the UK who might have been treated by a former healthcare worker with hepatitis C are being advised to arrange a blood test.

The individual, who has not been named, worked between 1982 and 2008, when they tested positive for the virus.
