Adam Johnson trial: Player admits he “manipulated” girlfriend
England footballer Adam Johnson has admitted he “manipulated” his girlfriend while messaging a 15-year-old girl.
Giving evidence at his trial, the former Sunderland player told Bradford Crown Court he “showed a complete lack of integrity” towards Stacey Flounders.
He told his partner to “stop being paranoid” when she asked him who he was sending messages to, the court heard.
Mr Johnson, 28, denies two counts of sexual activity with a child.
The winger, who has 12 England caps, told the jury he set up a new Snapchat account so that the girl could message him.
