British astronaut Tim Peake has just served up another amazing space shot of the aurora borealis.

He captured the remarkable scene from the orbiting International Space Station on Tuesday February 23.

The astronaut said: ‘The ISS just passed straight through a thick green fog of aurora – eerie but very beautiful.’

It’s not the first time he’s treated us to spectacular views over Earth.

He recently uploaded a batch to his Flickr account with the caption: ‘Getting a photo masterclass from Scott Kelly – magical aurora.’
