WATCH Meet the poodles who could be confused for HUMANS

A video of the two canines enjoying a swing in the park has gone viral.

Max and his best friend Ruby have racked up millions of views on social media with their child-like antics.

The adorable pups are both certified therapy dogs and volunteer with the elderly and young children.

Max, a seven-year-old Red Standard Poodle, is a big hit with the children, with his dyed paws which look like red socks.

Max and Ruby live in Tampa, Florida, USA, with their trainer – a retired businessman who doesn”t reveal his name.

The trainer uses a method called voluntary training, or positive reinforcement, which means Max and Ruby only perform when they want to and are never forced to train.

Their trainer, who has worked with animals for over 20 years, said: “Poodlesare very docile – they are very loving and attentive.

“Max is very laid back and obedient. Everyone loves him and especially his paws.

“I let his hair grow out and dyed them red – the kids love it.

“They are never forced to do anything. If he doesn”t want to do it, it”s not big deal.

“I reward them with lots of love, they are my babies.”

Max and Ruby volunteer around 40 hours a week where they visit the elderly at nursing homes and help them get out of bed and walk.

They also spend time with children in hospital to cheer them up by playing and entertaining them.

Children often find it easier to read to the pooches, so Max and Ruby attended schools to boost reading skills.

The trainer added: “They are loved by everyone they meet. The elderly always insist on being woken up when we visit.

“When we leave the kids they always break down and cry.” The trainer decided to make a website and social media profiles so the kids could watch video and pictures of the pair once they had gone.

The trainer said: “We spend hours devising entertaining photos and video ideas.

“It only takes a few minutes to get Max and Ruby to pose. These pictures and videos are actually is a form of therapy. We want to spread a smile.”

“A lot of people don”t realise they can put their dog through a therapy training program at their local humane society for free.

“All the dog needs is basic obedience training. It”s definitely something more people should do.

“However people should not try our tricks without a certified animal trainer as it could lead to harm or injury the animal.”
