LILY ALLEN’S migrant row has continued after she refused to discuss the scandal on a radio show and “blocked” its host on Twitter.
The pop star sparked fury when she visited the Calais migrant camp earlier this month and apologised to a child refugee on behalf of the UK.
This afternoon she hit back at an invitation to discuss the issue on an online radio show and allegedly barred the host from viewing her tweets on social media.
Jon Gaunt, host of Talk2MeRadio.com, tweeted this afternoon: “@LilyAllen you have time to Tweet in but not time to come on my show then?”
He then taunted her by imitating a chicken with the message: “CLUCK CLUCK”.
She replied: “Nothing positive comes from talking to people like you.”
She then allegedly blocked Mr Gaunt from seeing her Twitter page.
The radio host was far from dismayed at this development, responding: “Classic! Now @lilyallen has blocked me! I thought she wanted to talk? Oh well I think I will survive!”
Ms Allen had apologised for “what we’ve put you through” during a visit to the migrant camp in northern France earlier this week.
She told Shamsher Sherin, a 13-year-old Afghan refugee: “I apologise on behalf of my country, I’m sorry for what we’ve put you through.
“We’ve bombed your country, put you in the hands of the Taliban and now putting you at risk, risking your life to get into our country.”
Many Britons strongly objected to her decision to speak on behalf of the British public, with one Twitter user blasting: “Lily Allen has no right to speak for the UK. Her sense of self-importance is what I’ve always disliked. Regularly rude and disrespectful.”
