They may not be Olympic champions – but these guys deserve a gold medal for their top bants.

The friends managed to sneak past security at the parade honouring Olympic champions and ended up on the athletes’ bus.

Wearing Team GB tracksuits and with plastic gold medals hanging from their necks, the young men blended in with the Olympians pretty well.

That was until they were unmasked, brilliantly, live on Sky News.

The dressing down that a reporter gave the pair on live TV was like watching a teacher tell off naughty schoolchildren.

After claiming they were in the fencing team, the reporter accuses them of lying.

One of the imposters said: ‘We got the medal and we just thought we’ll give it a go.

‘We actually got ushered on, it was actually completely against our will.’

The reporter responds with ‘you’re a couple of blaggers aren’t you?’, to which the man replies: ‘We blag something every now and then. We’re going to get off at the next stop to be honest.’

They had managed to board the float carrying the women’s hockey team and modern pentathlon athletes at the Manchester ‘Heroes’ Parade’.

Although the athletes were not intimidated by their presence, the breach could be a concern at the high security event.

Prime Minister Theresa May was there along with the athletes and other VIPs.
