The 51-year-old German doctor, Heinz, said that the photographs were part of a ‘research project’ in a Bavarian court, but he did admit that he had not asked the women for their permission before he used the sex toys on them.
The spokesman for the court Leander Broessler said that the defendant was convicted of six counts of rape, five counts of sexual assaults, 11 counts of grievous bodily harm for drugging the patients and once case of sexually abusing a defenceless person.
At least 12 young women between the ages of 17 and 28 had been abused between 2008 and 2008 when it was revealed what he was doing.
A court in Bambery, a city in Bavaria, Germany said: “We had to look through more than one million pictures, and set up a hotline for people who felt they might have been victims to get in touch.”
Although the doctor did apologise for taking the pictures without the patients’ permission, he still claimed that he carried out the research as part of a study.
However, he was unable to say what using butt plugs had to do with a study about veins in the pelvic region.
The German court rejected his defence and he was jailed for seven years and nine months.
The full name of the doctor has not been released because of German privacy laws.
