Team GB parade 2016 Lads crash parade using PLASTIC medals to party with Jessica Ennis

The two mates blagged their way on to the victory float, where security “ushered” them on board alongside top GB athletes including Alistair Brownlee, Nicola Adams and Max Whitlock.

The pair danced and kissed their medals as they celebrated their “success” next to Team GB’s Sam Quek and the women’s hockey team.

But as media and other officials had to follow strict accreditation criteria, the boys were able to slip past security and even claimed they were ushered on board the float against their will.

A reporter for Sky News even interviewed the two jokers live on TV as they pretended to be fencing gold medalists.

After realising the jig was up, one of the young lads admitted: “We got the medals and we just thought, you know, we’d give it a go.

“We actually got ushered on, it was actually completely against our will. We blag something every now and then but we’re going to get off at the next stop.”

The security breach wasn’t dangerous on this occasion, but may highlight concerns for the British Olympic Association and Manchester police.

A spokesperson for BOA said: “We are aware of the matter, and are disappointed anyone would want to detract from the athletes’ celebration. This did not spoil anyone’s enjoyment of a wonderful event.”
