LBC host James O’Brien admitted that until the , he hadn’t realised how “wonderful” Britain was because of the perks of being part of the .

O’Brien made a passionate address about how he is still upset that Britain voted to leave the EU over five months ago.

The LBC presenter listed what he fears Britain will lose from triggering Article 50 and eventually leaving the EU.

O’Brien was disgusted that people are unwilling to talk about the position in which Britain will stand once it leaves the EU.

He said: “That”s where the enemies of democracy now are on the march in this country. People who actually don”t want to talk about where this country is going.

“I love this country. I hadn”t realised how much I loved it until it changed.

“I hadn”t realised how wonderful it was to be raising my children in Britain, until a lot of the things that made it wonderful got taken away or seem poised to be taken away.”

Prime Minister needs to wait for the Supreme Court to decide if MPs need to vote on invoking Article 50 or whether Downing Street can go ahead without parliamentary approval.

The Conservative leader plans to trigger Article 50 in March 2017 and begin the process of guiding Britain out of the EU.

O’Brien continued with his speech suggesting that many of the good things that Britain currently has will disappear when Britain leaves the 28-nation bloc.

He said: “I hadn”t really registered the fact that my children can go and work for their godfather in Spain if they want, they can go and live with him and work in his shop in their year off and learn another language.

“I hadn”t really registered how important it was to have scientific research leading the world in some quarters.

“Like everybody else I”d fallen into thinking the debate was about Romanian car washers and council houses.

“By God I love this place. Why is it in any way controversial to want to hang on to as much that makes it wonderful as possible and wave goodbye to as little as possible?

“And why do I have a Prime Minister conducting negotiations in the dark?”

The presenter”s emotional speech triggered a mixed reaction online.

One social media user said: “James. Your children still can do all of those things if we leave Europe, the difference is they might need a work visa! You know just like the ones you need to work in Australia on a gap year!

“The world will not end when we leave – there”s a big world outside of Europe you know.”

Another said: “Brexit will not change the things you talk about. Travelling and working in Europe, what do you think is going to happen, we are going to be locked in Britain.

“Get a life, no wonder Remoaners are crying if they believe things like that.”

A third mocked the presenter saying: “Doesn”t he realise that those of us who voted loved our country but didn”t like where it was going.”

However, some users supported the host”s comments.

“James O”Brien speaks the truth for the majority of us and will always have a following of open-minded, educated people who want to live in a world of love and not of hate,” one user said.

Another commented: “Well said. As someone who has traveled extensively across the world with work, returning home to the UK has always been refreshing.

“We aren”t perfect but we have one of the best balances of diversity, and all that comes with it.”
