Isis has claimed credit for the knife attack at Ohio State University.
A ‘soldier’ of the terror group carried out the attack that injured 11 people, an Isis source told the jihadi Amaq news agency.
The source said: ‘The executor of the attack in the American state of Ohio is a soldier of the Islamic State and he carried out the operation in response to calls to target citizens of international coalition countries.’
The man behind the attack was identified as Abdul Razak Ali Artan, a Somali student at the university.
He was shot dead by police following his stabbing rampage.
The FBI previously revealed that it was investigating whether the incident was a terror attack.
Artan was interviewed by student newspaper The Lantern in August, telling the paper he was a Muslim and a third-year logistics management student who had just transferred from Columbus State.
He said: ‘I was kind of scared with everything going on in the media. I’m a Muslim, it’s not what media portrays me to be.
