Police received reports of mountain lions at a park in the US so they set up some cameras to try and detect them.

What they didn’t reckon on capturing, however, was Santa, a gorilla, monsters and a person with a Zimmer frame.

Gardner Police Department in Kansas put the cameras up in a park.

Lieutenant Lee Krout said: ‘It’s not impossible for there to be a mountain lion in this area because there have been reports in the past.’

Writing on Facebook, the police department said: ‘We would like to sincerely thank the persons responsible as it made our day when we pulled up what we expected to be hundreds of pictures of coyotes, foxes and raccoons.

‘Thank you to the citizens who noticed the cameras. Your effort and sense of humour are greatly appreciated.’

No mountain lions were spotted.
