A cyclist has been caught on CCTV flagging down a bus before walking on board and attacking the driver.

A camera captured the middle-aged looking man park his bike in front of the bus before walking towards the vehicle and confronting the driver in Brisbane, Australia.

The cyclist wearing a red top, sunglasses, dark shorts and a helmet is seen starting to talk to the driver before slapping him in the face.

Queensland Police have released images of the man who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

A spokesman told the MailOnline that the incident could be road rage related but couldn’t confirm it.

The force said in a statement: ‘The cyclist and bus driver became involved in a verbal altercation when the driver was punched in the face several times.

‘The man then fled along Adelaide Street on his bicycle. The bus driver sustained facial injuries as a result of the incident.’

The man police wish to speak to is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 50s, tall with grey hair and an athletic build.
