The brother of Karen Danczuk has been found guilty of eight rapes on three different victims.
Michael Burke, 38, collapsed in the dock as he was found guilty of the attacks which took place between 1992 and 2010.
One of his victims was between the ages of nine and 11 and he targeted her ‘repeatedly’ when he was aged between 14 and 16.
He was accused of 15 counts of rape, one attempted rape and one indecent assault against three females.
Two of them were ‘pre-teens’, a jury was told, when they were attacked.
Prosecutor Peter Wright told the court: ‘He is a man no doubt with many positive qualities but he has a flaw. That flaw is that in respect of each of them, he abused them for his own gratification.’
Talking about how it affected her, one of his victims said: ‘It’s awful, when I talk about it it’s like I’m watching it. I was living it then, now I’m kind of like watching it in my head. It felt like it just lasted forever. It was horrible.’
Speaking directly to Burke, he said: ‘You recognised them as vulnerable and thought you could get away with it.’
She added: ‘I can’t trust anyone. I have suffered anxiety the majority of my adult life and it’s been horrendous.
‘I didn’t sleep properly for years, every night there would be flashbacks or a nightmare. I’m at the swimming baths and I’m convinced every man is a paedo.
‘I have had a complete breakdown. It ruined my school life. I will never love properly. I will never let anyone in – it’s horrible.’
Burke will be sentenced on December 15.
