Moment man walks off with £1.3m of gold in bucket in central New York


The armoured truck was parked in Manhattan, New York, as two guards went into a building for another pick-up.

CCTV footage shows a man realising no-one was looking and grabbing the 5-gallon bucket of gold flakes that were bound for Ontario, Canada.

He casually grabs the gold from the Loomis delivery truck and walks quickly down Sixth Avenue.

Nobody bats an eyelid as the guy disappears out of sight with the £1.3m load.

New York Police Department released the footage of the incident, which took place at about 4:30 pm on September 29, in the hope of getting more information.

The suspect is about 5ft 6 ins tall and in his 50s, police said.

He was last seen wearing a black vest, green shirt, blue jeans and carrying a black messenger bag.

It comes as  after he tried to rob a cafe.

And they believe is on the run in the Costas.
