“Revoltingly arrogant” BBC viewers turn on Cherie Blair as she says New Labour is not dead


The lawyer and wife of former prime minister Tony Blair was branded “deluded” and “revoltingly arrogant” by viewers after she said people “won’t turn their backs” on the Labour movement which developed under her husband.

Speaking on BBC’s Newsnight, Mrs Blair claimed her husband’s view for the centre-left party was “something worth fighting for” as she hit back at presenter Evan Davis after he suggested New Labour"s time was up.
