Vicky Archer suffers bleeding from the mouth, vomiting and a painful, itchy rash after being bitten in Menorca 10 weeks ago.
The 15-year-old is battling an unidentified condition which has left medics utterly baffled.
Now in a desperate bid for help, mum Alison has released shocking photographs of the youngster”s terrifying symptoms.
The unknown illness comes as thousands of people in Australia have suffered from mystery killer condition Thunderstorm Asthma.
She said: “It is just awful. We are not getting the treatment that she needs because they can”t give it until we get the diagnosis.
“We have been here for ten weeks without a diagnosis. We just need this scan. We can”t wait another week.”
Alison claims her daughter can no longer recognise her, understand her left from right, or do simple tasks like reading.
Since being admitted to hospital the A-star student has lost more than a stone and spent her 15th birthday in isolation.
A University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust spokesman apologised to Vicky and her family for their experience.
He said: “Despite advances in modern medicine and diagnostic therapies, there are some illnesses which are complex and difficult to diagnose, and can take time and variations of tests and treatments to solve.
“We are working with Vicky and her family to diagnose her condition as quickly as possible while we continue to care for her.
“We understand how upsetting it is when a diagnostic test is cancelled and we only do this when there is absolutely no alternative.
“We are speaking directly to Vicky and her family to ensure her MRI scans are done as quickly as possible.”
