At the time of his disappearance, the father-of-two was wearing a red patterned shirt, black trousers and shoes.

Friends and family of Allen, who was on holiday with wife Sue, said he is known to suffer from depression.

He had reportedly been feeling down in the days leading up to his disappearance.

Speaking to Hull Daily Mail, his nephew Carl Varley, whose parents were holidaying with the couple, said the family are ‘desperate’ to trace Allen.

He said: ‘My uncle suffers with depression. He was on medication but he had been feeling gloomy for about five or six days.

‘They were out at a bar and my aunt got up to go to the toilet. Allen followed her and they assumed it was because he was going to the toilet too.

‘Sue came back and Allen didn’t. He was nowhere to be found.’

The local police in Spain have been informed.
