Watch live Trump gives first press conference since winning the election

Donald Trump is about to give his first formal press conference since winning the election.

It has been six months since he formally answered questions like this, and he had been expected to discuss the future of business interests.

However, it is likely to be overshadowed by the story of an unverified dossier which made a series of allegations, including that Russia had a video of him watching prostitutes urinate on a bed the Obamas once slept in.

Trump denied this and said he did not have links to Russia.

His conference was expected to start at 4pm in British time, but was late starting. We will be updating this story as it goes on.

Published by BuzzFeed, the dossier was said to based on memos from a former British spy, who worked for an organisation opposed to Trump in Washington DC.

The President-elect initially dismissed the reports as ‘fake news’, the Kremlin insisted they had no material on Trump and people on 4Chan claimed they invented the entire thing.

‘Russia has never tried to use leverage over me,’ Trump tweeted. ‘I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA – NO DEALS, NO LOANS, NO NOTHING!’
